The Final Destination film series released five episodes, spread from 2000 to 2011. Thirteen years have passed since the release of the fifth film, but now it has been revealed that Final Destination: Bloodlines, or the sixth chapter of the franchise, has officially started production. A sixth Final Destination film has been discussed numerous times over the years. All that talk without anything concrete hasn't made things easy for fans, who have already prepared for another blood-soaked episode. The project is finally coming to fruition, so we can rest assured that the franchise is officially back!

As you can see below, the film's producer, Craig Perry, shared several interesting details about the film, including a photo from the set. According to him, the film's release is scheduled to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the original Final Destination. This will include an IMAX version. “After a long and tiring hard work during the pandemic and strikes, the first day of shooting is finally ready. 2025 will mark the 25th anniversary of the release of the first chapter of the franchise. Honoring the occasion with another worldwide theatrical release (in IMAX, no less) is a rare and wonderful thing. I am totally grateful for the opportunity and humbly appreciative of the sublimely talented team who worked so hard to bring it to life. See you next year!"

The producer also noted that the title has similarities to Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, but specifies that it was chosen several years ago and that they have no intention of changing it, at least for now. “PS: I know, I know – Pet Sematary: Bloodlines. But this is the title we've had for three years and we're keeping it... for now." Final Destination: Bloodlines is directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein. The screenplay was written by Lori Evans Taylor and Guy Busick, from a story by Jon Watts. At the moment there is no news on the cast.
