The long-awaited film Alien: Romulus is about to arrive in theaters with a space adventure full of suspense and terror. In an exclusive interview with Total Film via GamesRadar, actress Cailee Spaeny revealed some details about her experience with the film and the importance of honoring the series' legacy, particularly iconic heroine Ellen Ripley, played by Sigourney Weaver.

Spaeny, a huge fan of the Alien series, revealed that he approached her role in the film with deep respect for Weaver's character. The trailer for Alien: Romulus features an iconic moment in which Spaeny's character Raines emerges from an elevator with a rifle, a clear homage to Ellen Ripley's memorable style. However, Spaeny stressed that she does not try to imitate Weaver, but rather draw inspiration from his interpretation of her to create a unique, three-dimensional character.

“In that role, I tried to give it my all,” Spaeny said. “Watching Sigourney play that role in Alien was revolutionary for the film industry, but I could never be her. I tried to make my character as authentic and engaging as possible.”

Alien: Romulus is set between the first two films in the series, attempting to capture the distinctive spirit and atmosphere of its predecessors. Spaeny revealed that the film aims to be a "child" of the two previous chapters, combining iconic elements with new challenges and dangers. Spaeny stressed the importance of respecting the authenticity of the first film in bringing iconic creatures such as the Xenomorph and the Facehugger to life, offering viewers a visceral and immersive experience, close to the first film.
