The Acolyte reveals itself in this fantastic first trailer. The new Star Wars series transports us to the golden era of the Jedi Order
The series is set 100 years before the franchise's prequel trilogy, during the High Republic era of the Star Wars universe. It will be the furthest in the timeline a live-action Star Wars project has ever touched. The series' official plot reveals: “An investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-Jae) against a dangerous warrior from her past (Amandla Stenberg). As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal that all is not what it seems.”
The trailer begins with Lee Jung-jae's Jedi Master teaching a group of young people, while Amandla Stenberg's assassin attempts to kill another Jedi, played by Carrie-Anne Moss. A group of Jedi then begins the hunt for the assassin, spanning the entire galaxy, before she manages to eliminate them all one by one. In a scene at the climax of the battle, the Jedi unsheath their multicolored lightsabers and prepare to fight the killer, who wields a red lightsaber. The cast also includes Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, and Joonas Suotamo.
