More than a month after its theatrical debut, Dune: Part Two achieved a significant milestone at the box office, surpassing the Wonka film and becoming the biggest global success of Timothée Chalamet's career. The sci-fi sequel, produced by Warner Bros. and Legendary, has grossed a total of $631.3 million worldwide after 35 days of its release.
With Dune: Part Two, Timothée Chalamet has now established himself as a leading man
Reaching this milestone for Dune highlighted the incredible popularity and success of the film, especially for Chalamet who plays one of the main roles. The young actor has consolidated his position as one of Hollywood's emerging stars, demonstrating his ability to attract international audiences. Dune: Part Two surpassed Wonka both domestically and internationally, confirming itself as one of the most important films of the moment. Directed by Denis Villeneuve, Dune: Part Two gained support from major film industry figures, including Christopher Nolan, before its release.
The success of Dune: Part Two was especially significant considering that the film was delayed due to various factors, including strikes by the writers' and actors' unions. However, the delay did not stop the film from achieving outstanding results at the box office. The film concludes the two-part adaptation of Frank Herbert's seminal science fiction novel, but director Denis Villeneuve has expressed interest in further exploring the Dune universe. The director, in fact, is currently developing a third film based on the book Dune: Messiah. While Dune: Part Two continues to be shown in cinemas, Timothée Chalamet is busy on the set of the Bob Dylan biopic directed by James Mangold, entitled A Complete Unknown.
