The upcoming Outlander spin-off, titled Blood of My Blood, recently announced the addition of four new members to its cast, piquing the interest of fans of the books. Among the new entries, we find Sara Vickers from Watchmen, who will play Brian Fraser's mother and, therefore, Jamie Fraser's grandmother. The character, although not named in Diana Gabaldon's novels, is named after Davina Porter, the narrator of the Outlander audiobooks. This detail could be a special gift for loyal readers.
In addition to Vickers, other actors are joining the cast of the Outlander spin-off. Britbox's Crime's Brian McCardie will play Isaac Grant, the leader of the Grant Clan, while Torchwood: The Story Continues' Jhon Lumsden will play Grant's son Malcolm. Finally, Ozark's Peter Mullan will be Red Jacob MacKenzie, laird of the MacKenzie Clan and father of Ellen, Dougal, Colum, Janet, and Jocasta.
Blood of My Blood will follow the parallel love stories of Jamie's parents in the 18th-century Scottish Highlands and Claire's parents in World War I England. The cast also includes actors like Jamie Roy, Harriet Slater, Jeremy Irvine, Hermione Corfield, and more, with Outlander's Matthew B. Roberts serving as showrunner and executive producer. Starz ordered the first Outlander spin-off series in January 2023, simultaneously announcing the conclusion of the original TV series with a 10-episode final season.
